Eezi Awn K9 Alubox Mount Mark II

Hi, this is Paul with Equipt Expedition Outfitters, and we've got some exciting news. We've got the version 2 K9 Value Box Mount that just barely came in from Eezi-Awn. We're very excited about this. We had to make some changes to the version one, which was giving us a little bit of a hiccup. We had handmade cases from Denmark trying to go through handmade mounts from South Africa, and sometimes they didn't always match up.

What we did here on this mount is made the mount adjustable. Now it's going to still use all of the cases that use the 23-inch dimension on them, which is most common with our 42-liter case. Here's 23 inches across the base here. But what they did to really make this a better mount is they took the riveted areas here and made them slotted with six-millimeter studs, so the whole front base here can slide laterally and adjust to the case width of the value box, which makes that wonderful. You can slide it out as much as you need to or slide it in.

Over time, what they expect to happen here is this back piece of metal that's curled like this might fatigue a little bit and open up. As that happens, you can take this front and adjust it tighter against the alley box to hold it in place. They've done a wonderful job there. Also, they changed out the pivot point here to a flathead screw with a six-millimeter nylock nut, and the latch tightens better. We also have the mechanism here for locking the cases better.

Let's just put a case in here, and I'll show you how this all works. I have this set up right now to full extension. We take our case, slide it in here, and you notice how this fits nice and above the mount there. We have the front in location here, comes into place, locks into place. That mount is on there good.

If you notice on the bottom here, we've got plenty of locations for you to be able to mount this base to anything that you want. It's designed to be mounted to the K9 roof rack systems, but it will work on a lot of the other rack systems out there that have that T-slot system built into it. It comes with a set of four eight-millimeter bolts to tie it down within those T-slots, and the bolts underneath the latch are covered with a nice plastic black cap to hold that there and not mar anything up to that.
