Equipt 101: Bedding & Hard Shell Tents

Hi, I'm Paul with Equipt Expedition Outfitters. One of the big questions we get asked all the time about the hard shell rooftop tents is: Is it possible for us to put our bedding inside the hard shell and still be able to close it? For the Easy On rooftop tents, the answer is yes, but you have to be pretty specific about where you put it.

If you look at the hard shell tents that are up there, all of them start at the front pretty low and they have a taper to the tent. Well, that taper gives us more room at the back end and in the center of the hard shell tent. So when you bring that tent down, there is a cavity in there that you can put your bedding in—a couple of down bags and a couple of pillows. It's definitely possible to do. You just have to be careful about the side canvas being able to fold down correctly and that you're not too tall inside that tent option. But it's definitely possible to do.
