Video Transcript

Hi, this is Paul with Equipt Expedition Outfitters, and today I'm very excited. We're going to be able to finally get some seat covers on the Toyota Land Cruiser 60 series that we have right behind you. This was the 60 series that Escape Gear came over and templated with their three-dimensional templating machine to build seat covers for the United States. I'm very excited about it. What we have here is the light khaki version of the front row and second row seats for this vehicle with headrests for the front seats. Pretty straightforward pieces. We got the bottom and the top for each of those as well as the bottom and top for the back seats. So let's take a look at what we're going to do.

So what you see here is the original interior of our 60 series Land Cruiser with the stripe material and the headrests here. You can see also the back seat that we have, pretty typical 60 series stuff. Now, one thing to keep in mind is on the second row of seats, ours is a 1983, and this does not have headrests on the back row. There are some later models and the 62s that do have headrests, so that's something you need to let us know if you have headrests or not in your vehicle. Let's get started with the install.

One thing you want to be very clear about here is on the front seat covers, they come in two pieces. There's a top and a bottom here, and if you look on the back of these seats, there are a myriad of straps. There's a good reason for all of that. So what we have in here are three straps that are going to come off of the top as well as three more straps that hold the bottom in place. So on the front here, we have six friction buckles, and right here we have three friction buckles. So what we're going to do is separate those two pieces, put one on, put the other on, feed all of those straps through to the front, and tighten down the friction straps. What you want to be sure that you do is to keep those straps in order so that the three bottom go into the right friction buckles, three on the top go into the left friction buckles. Straightforward stuff, line them up, and it shouldn't be too bad at all. Let's take this apart and we'll put it in the vehicle.

So what you'll see I've done here is I put the seat bottom on first and I've routed the three straps from the seat bottom forward. Now those are going to go into the friction buckles down here. It doesn't matter which one really, just as long as you're consistent, that'll be just fine. We'll tie those on and then we'll move to the back.

Now we're working on the seat back here, and we've put the seat back on it, fished the three webbing straps through the seat back and the seat bottom, and those will be going to the front and tying into the other three buckles we have up front.

Okay, now we're tackling the back row in the 60 series, and this is the seat bottom. You notice over here there's three for one side of the seat and three for the other side of the seat. We've got some stretch material held onto the webbing around the whole front of that. He comes back here and ties onto the friction buckles across the back. Let's see how it looks.

Okay, let's take a look at what we have here. We have the Escape Gear seat covers for the 60 series Land Cruiser. I think they turned out fantastic. Escape Gear quality for fitment and just general quality of seat cover. I haven't seen anybody else in the market do it with the piping on the edges, the friction buckles in place, the tight fitment of the headrests. You can also see in the back seat covers here the fitment that they have on that. These are going to last forever. They're a really nice fit cover. The back cover on the 60, because the carpet goes up the back seat, you actually Velcro the seat back to the carpet system, and there are some weight systems on the bottom of that back panel that hold it down into place there. But I am very impressed with how these turned out, and I know that you would like them in your 60 as well. Thank you very much for watching.
