Description
A Skottle, pronounced Skaw-tell, is a South African outdoor cooking contraption. Skottles were developed by the South African farmers’ need to find a secondary use for old harrow discs. Creatively, farmer began turned these discs into an outdoor cooking system that could be easily used while out in the field. The Skottle caught on with the public in the 1940s and 50s, and is now synonymous with grilling in South Africa.
